Messina stoves
Created and made in the heart of Europe: Messina design stoves - are handmade in small numbers at our metalworking business in the
Principality of Liechtenstein - from the bending of steel plates, followed by the pouring of the combustion chamber stones, to the careful assembly of the individual
components as well as the complex surface treatments.
IGNIS - The wood combustion technology by MESSINA
One handle does it all. The combustion air supply is conducted through an
ingenious construction within the stove, the air divides itself into the
required amounts (primary, secondary air and an air curtain - to prevent
soot building up on the glass door). In this way, an operating error can be
prevented.
The main element in our combustion system is the so-called Diffuser.
This element is made out of a Ceramic fiber with a very porous surface that
is temperature resistant up to 1360°C. This large, slightly catalytic acting
"reactive surface" makes sure that the flame burns completely, before it comes in
contact with a cold surface (storage-register). In addition, the Diffuser directs
the hot gases exactly where they can give off heat optimally onto the storage
register.
Messina has created its own combustion chamber elements that are cast to fit
exactly (without any waste). After many years of test series to optimise the
furnace technology, the rib design, which resembles a whale's belly, emerged as
a backrest for the logs. The materials chosen exclusively for the combustion
chamber, guarantee a long durability and at the same time exhibit the optimal
ratio between insulation and warmth storage. The Ignis concept by Messina
is created in such a way that even with high concentrations of CO2, a perfect
combustion still takes place (low CO level).
